10 Wrestlers Punished In-Ring For Their Behaviour

4. Mike Bell Gets Mopped

Mike Bell never quite set the wrestling world on fire, instead working predominantly as enhancement talent for ECW and the WWF. In 2001 he was paired with Perry Saturn for a bout on Jakked/Metal, one booked to make Saturn look good with a quick win.

A badly botched snapmare armdrag caused Saturn to land hard on his head. Visibly furious, Saturn peeled himself off the mat, grabbed Bell and astutely observed “you dropped me on my head.” Blinded by rage, Saturn laid a merciless, all too real beatdown on his opponent. Treating Bell like a rag doll, Saturn threw him hard into the steel steps at ringside.

WWF officials were understandably infuriated by what had occurred and punished Saturn with the infamous moppy gimmick. Whilst Saturn’s romantic relationship with a mop was beyond absurd, it ironically led to him getting more over with fans for a spell than when he had been a serious character. Saturn’s run as a ridiculous midcard act ended with his release in November 2002. Bell, on the other hand, never got another shot with in the big leagues and passed away in 2008.
