10 Wrestlers Who Actually WON On The Way Out

9. Kairi Sane

Kairi Sane's last match in WWE saw her pick up a win over then-SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley on a July 2020 episode of RAW. It was a non-title match, obviously, and there's nothing to say that Sane would have defeated Bayley had the blue belt been on the line. We never found out one way or the other, as Sane was beaten down by Bayley the next week. This wrote her off the show and out of the company entirely.

Sane's WWE run was decent enough, the highlight being an NXT Women's Championship reign and feud with Shayna Baszler that put both women on the map. Her main roster tenure is, unfortunately, best remembered for her being injured all too frequently by Nia Jax, but some things are best left in the past. Sane won the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships alongside Asuka. Saying all that, maybe winning the 2017 Mae Young Classic was the highlight?

Whatever you consider the highlight of Kairi Sane's WWE run, what matters (in the context of this list, at least) is that she defeated Bayley in what was her last match for the company. Will she return in the future? You'd need to be a soothsayer to know the answer to that, but the smart money is on a resounding 'no'.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
