I'll finish with the latest to graduate from the Olympics to the world of professional wrestling. Chad Gable has burst onto our screens over the last year as one half of American Alpha with Jason Jordan, arguably the tag team that will marshall WWE's tag division towards a brave new world.

Gable signed with WWE in late 2013, just one year after he competing in the London 2012 Games. He didn't progress too far in the competition, coming up short in the early rounds, but losing in the early rounds of Olympics wrestling is an achievement in itself.

Gable's career in professional wrestling is only just beginning, but not many have taken to the sport quite as quickly as he, a deserving winner of the 2015 Wrestling Observer Newsletter Rookie of the Year award.

So if you choose to watch the Rio Games this summer, pay close attention to some of the athletes. You might just be watching some future pro wrestlers.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
