10 Wrestlers Who Gambled On A New Catchphrase

9. Ryback Does Not, In Fact, Drool

Ryback rules.

Ryback had mixed success in the catchphrase field. As Skip Sheffield, he tried to get "Yip yip yip what it do" over, which made him sound as dumb as a box of rocks, and this shoot approach didn't catch on because he wasn't working RINGS.

As Ryback, a Terminator-inspired character that was dumb of the good fun kind, Ryback convinced several thousand people to shout "Feed me more!" at once as the jobber corpses piled up. It was a good and over bit; those one versus three squash matches were a hoot, his power game was impressive on a visceral level, and as weird as it may read now - Ryback is a bit of a relic - he had a real presence about him with which he briefly headlined WWE pay-per-views. "Finish it" got over, too. All was well, until they turned him heel after losing to Mark Henry in a nonsensical result.

As a heel, Ryback took to saying "Ryback rules!", perhaps seeking to impress Vince with alliteration, but he was cooked, and this Billy Madison-inspired bit has largely been forgotten.

Ryback is now a men's rights activist.

Was it successful?

Big Guy just couldn't crush the apple.
