10 Wrestlers Who Have SERIOUSLY Regressed In The Ring

Asuka, Nakamura, Wyatt - Who else has found their match quality going downhill?

Wrestling is, without a doubt, one of the most demanding athletic industries in the world.

Performing to a high calibre with so little time off and the pressure of being watched by thousands is something most people will never come close to understanding. There's no doubt that to even be at the lowest level of this business; you need to be good. But that doesn't mean it's not obvious when someone's in-ring work hits a decline.

The wrestling world is full of great performers constantly vying for the top positions in their respective companies, and thus, those seated at the top aren't always safe. Just as one new star is made, another younger talent starts to make a name for themselves, so superstars have to work hard to stay consistent.

With all the work, pain and effort that goes into being an excellent in-ring performer, it's no surprise that so many once in a lifetime talents begin to regress. It doesn't mean they don't still have incredible value, just that their abilities within the ring have started to lag a little behind.

These wrestlers are all worthy of your respect, even if their five-star days appear to be behind them...

10. Baron Corbin

If anyone told you - at any point during his career - that they were confident Baron Corbin would be a future Hall of Famer, then you'd have been well within your rights to laugh them out of the room. With that being said, it's not too much of a stretch to say that the explosive work of Corbin during his initial days in the company did impress.

It's a far cry from the work he performs regularly now.

When he burst onto the NXT scene with his new look in 2014, he caught everyone's attention. His awesome array of moves like the Deep Six and epic End Of Days finish made him seem so unique, and the shortness of his matches also helped with this. He seemed like an unstoppable lone wolf, but once he made his way out of NXT and short squash matches, his struggles became clear.

During his time on the main roster, Corbin's flaws would become far too obvious. As the clock ticked by - bringing us to right now - his matches have become a chore to watch, as his lumbering pace, lack of investment and dull presentation turn his bouts into snore-fests. Not even his classic signature moves can make up for it now.
