10 Wrestlers Who Managed To Get Themselves Out Of Terrible Ideas

When Daivari first joined WWE, he was paired with Muhammad Hassan as the new heel's translator. Ultimately, that gimmick turned into one of the more tasteless characters WWE has ever had, and Hassan was fired after being banned from Smackdown by UPN.

That left Daivari in the lurch, but apparently, management had a backup plan for him. According to Daivari, Stephanie McMahon called him up with a pitch for a new gimmick: George W. Bush. The character would see the Arab-American Daivari change his name to that of the sitting President - who was most well-known for waging an unjust war that killed, hurt, and displaced millions of Arabs - and put on an over-the-top performance as a jingoistic patriot that was meant to get him booed.

Daivari wasn't exactly bowled over. He told McMahon that the whole thing sounded kind of stupid and he imagined it would have a short shelf life. She replied by telling him that he was probably right, and that was that.
