Recently, John Cena broke down in tears when talking about Edge to the media. One WWE great cried as he spoke of another's passion for wrestling, and recalled the sacrifices Edge had made to entertain fans worldwide. That, to be fair, is something no supporter takes for granted in 2023.

Edge's 2020 return was one of the most pleasing, sentimental moments this industry has ever seen. It came almost nine full years after the guy had been forced to retire from the ring due to neck injuries, so it felt great to see him bound back into view as a new man with unfinished business.

Injuries have been problematic since 2020 though.

Edge has suffered a few, and they've led to prolonged periods on the bench. He's also been openly chatting about stepping away from wrestling on his own terms soon, largely because he's aware his body can't take too much more of this stuff.

What a career renaissance though.
