10 Wrestlers Who Should Return To WWE NXT

8. Apollo Crews

Apollo Crews had a quick rise through NXT before ascending to the main roster. After debuting, the former Uhaa Nation ran through Baron Corbin, Elias and others as the indie standout seemed destined for the main roster from the moment he arrived at Full Sail.

Now, five years after his promotion from NXT, Apollo has gone through a gimmick change embracing his Nigerian heritage, and picked up a manager in Commander Azeez. While this overhaul might be better than his previous vanilla babyface persona, Apollo has not seen much in the way of success. A good rivalry with Big E was arguably the highlight of Apollo's career up to this point, but after losing the Intercontinental Championship in August of last year, he has been placed on the backburner of WWE.

Nearly six years removed from his first run at the Performance Center, now would be the perfect time to reintroduce Apollo Crews to the NXT audience. With the likes of Pete Dunne, Tommaso Ciampa and possibly Bron Breakker leaving for the main roster, it leaves a hole on Tuesday nights that could easily be filled by Apollo Crews.
