10 Wrestlers Who Should Return To WWE NXT
3. The Viking Raiders
The Viking Raiders are a prime example of how being promoted to the main roster can be the worst thing for an act in NXT. After dominating the tag team scene of Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and NXT, fans were excited to see Hanson and Rowe continue to dominate on the main roster.
However, as has unfortunately become par for the course, WWE did their best to undo all the momentum War Machine had built in their ten-year run to that point. Turning Hanson and Rowe into Erik and Ivar, and rechristening the team The Viking Experience was a quick reality check for the once-dominant tandem. After the name change was swiftly rejected by fans, WWE settled on the Viking Raiders and the team won the Raw Tag Team Championships shortly afterwards. Following the loss of their titles, they were turned into comedy characters, competing against The Street Profits in a series of games before going on a losing streak.
After returning following WrestleMania 37, the Viking Raiders have done much of nothing with SmackDown being dominated by The Usos and The New Day. With the NXT tag division always in need of fresh talent, Tuesday nights could be the perfect home for Erik and Ivar.
