10 Wrestlers Who VANISHED When ECW Died

3. The One Man Gang

Now, the One Man Gang in ECW isn’t quite as surprising until you imagine him in his Akeem gear in a flaming tables match opposite the Dudley Boyz.

It’s piss-funny material.

As the OMG, the former Dungeon of Doom member appeared for a brief period in ECW between September 1998 and October 1999, during which he lost a slew of matches to the so-called giant killer, Spike Dudley. The first of those losses came on ECW Hardcore TV’s 16 September 1998 broadcast, where Dudley was victorious in just forty-two seconds.

The real-life George Gray’s existence in ECW was effectively that of the jobber. He put over Rob Van Dam (which was during RVD’s impeccable World Television Title run), Sabu, and Shane Douglas, who was the World Heavyweight Champion at the time.

Upon departing ECW, the One Man Gang appeared on all manner of events. He wrestled Abdullah The Butcher on the infamous Heroes Of Wrestling card, spent a chunk of time in Puerto Rico wrestling for the World Wrestling Council, and, most surprising, teamed with Demolition’s Ax and Smash during the 2008 CHIKARA King of Trios tournament.

His retirement match in 2009 saw him rather fittingly defeated by Jim Duggan, who famously eliminated the One Man Gang to win the inaugural Royal Rumble match.
