Supercard of Honor XV may have been sandwiched between a litany of competing shows, but the Ring of Honor pay-per-view still managed to stand out from the crowded lineup.

Whether it was the allure of seeing the FTR vs. The Briscoes dream match for the ROH Tag Team Titles, the unification of the ROH World Title, or the sheer intrigue surrounding the promotion’s return, fans were certainly tuning in to witness this new era of honor - accruing over 20,000 purchases according to figures from The Wrestling Observer.

Tony Khan has only owned ROH for a little over a month now, yet the AEW President’s impact on the organization is readily evident.

From the quality of the in-ring product, to the injection of AEW talent into the previously depleted roster, ROH’s future is brighter than ever. Journeying to ROH is a fresh experience for some and a homecoming for others. The one thing these wrestlers have in common is they are positioned to make their mark as the promotion continues to rebuild.

10. Jonathan Gresham

A lot of Ring of Honor’s future seems up in the air at the moment, at least until Tony Khan reveals more about his plans moving forward. One thing that is certain, however, is that Jonathan Gresham will be the one leading the ROH brand into the Khan era.

Defeating Bandido at Supercard of Honor to unify the ROH World Championship, Gresham quickly found himself inserted into the brewing Jay Lethal/Samoa Joe confrontation before the night was through.

‘The Octopus’ is one of the fastest rising stars in professional wrestling and is also the current Progress World Champion.

According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer:

“It is generally believed Gresham is either signed or to be signed by AEW.”

This corroborates recent reports from Fightful Select regarding updates on Gresham’s contract status, as well as news from PW Insider placing Gresham backstage at AEW Dynamite back in December alongside former ROH Champion Matt Taven.

Gresham’s continued inclusion in ROH can mean only good things for the promotion’s path ahead.
