WWE was ready for Asuka...to step up and become Raw's most dependable female worker.

The Japanese star has certainly done that. Since Becky Lynch waltzed off into motherhood 24 hours after Money In The Bank, Asuka has taken up the mantle and shown why she's an often under-appreciated treasure that glimmers on the periphery of WWE's attention.

Asuka works well with everybody, and she'll prove that yet again at 'Mania 37 against Rhea Ripley. Speaking of that - the match with Ripley is a million miles better than being stuck in a forgettable tag bout with Kairi Sane against Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross was last year, and it hasn't even happened yet.

Asuka will put Rhea over big time, do so with now-default passion and won't lose any shred of street cred in the process. That's why she's so valuable. The current Raw Women's Champ can eat defeats without shedding her aura or importance.

She deserves the attention her match will get.
