Sting truly transformed during the NWO invasion of WCW. Feeling betrayed and abandoned by his WCW brethren who were fooled by the NWO's Impostor Sting, the flamboyantly face-painted one changed his look, took to the rafters for months, and even gained the power of teleportation.
Though, honestly, that was less impressive than the mad rappelling skills he developed as he would plummet toward the ring to rescue imperiled babyfaces and make Hollywood Hogan's life miserable. Whether he was unleashing hordes of doppelgangers into the fray or simply dropping a dummy into their midst as a ruse, Sting became a master of tricks and traps.
The Stinger in his Crow-inspired persona didn't teleport often, but when he did, it was masterfully executed to keep the NWO ringleaders off their game.
