10 Wrestlers WWE Should Have Signed YEARS Earlier

1. WALTER

Candice LeRae
WWE

People forget that WALTER has been an active wrestler since 2007, making him a 14-year pro already. In that time he has dominated the independent scene all over the world, winning championships in wXw, Defiant Wrestling, and Progress before making the long-awaited jump to WWE and quickly becoming top-dog on NXT UK.

Fortunately, WWE has not made the same mistake with WALTER that they made with the likes of Samoa Joe or AJ Styles, and have jumped to sign the 33-year-old before injuries and time begin to slow him down. But even now, you can't help but wonder what might have been had they picked him up in 2015, when he was tearing the house down with the likes of Matt Riddle and Keith Lee.

WALTER has "main event" written all over him. As 2021 rolls around, and assuming WWE could convince him to move to the States, he could have been five or six years deep into his WrestleMania appearances. We could have seen 'Der Bulle aus Wien' slotted into Dean Ambrose's spot against Brock Lesner at 'Mania 32, or squashing Goldberg at WrestleMania 33. Even a run in NXT would have made for some truly exciting television, if only he'd been signed a little bit sooner.
