10 Wrestlers WWE Should Have Signed YEARS Earlier

9. Mercedes Martinez

Mercedes Martinez has over 20 different championship reigns to her name in a career that has spanned almost the entirety of this millennium. She has a great look, is magic in the ring and can make just about anybody look good. The only thing going against her, at least in Vince McMahon's eyes, would probably be her age.

Had WWE picked up Martinez a decade earlier, she could have been a focal point of the burgeoning developmental division the company was building, putting her right at the forefront of the women’s division that would see the likes of Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch cut their teeth, instead of on the main roster where her talents would probably have been wasted.

Another option would be to have brought her to the WWE in anticipation of Ronda Rousey’s arrival. Martinez would have been the perfect first opponent for ‘Rowdy Ronda’ after her feud with The Authority ended. The two women are similarly hard-hitting and polishing off such a well-matched rival could only have served to make Ronda look even better.
