8. Steve Austin Thought Celebrity SummerSlam Match Was Embarrassing
The critical response to Stephen Amell's performance at WWE SummerSlam seems to be quite positive. As a lifelong wrestling fan, the actor seemed to equip himself quite well when teaming with Neville against Stardust and 'King' Barrett. Amell seemed excited to be involved in the Pay-Per-View, and he didn't seem awkward when called upon to work with either Cody Rhodes or Wade Barrett. WWE Hall Of Famer and multi-time World Champion, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin doesn't agree. According to Austin, the whole ordeal was "embarrassing", and he feels it's time WWE stopped trying to shoehorn celebrities into the current product. Going further, Austin also said it's fine to have celebrities appear, but not to wrestle against full-time talent. It's easy to understand where Steve Austin is coming from with his viewpoint, but it likely won't deter WWE from booking further bouts involving the celebrity. Stephen Amell impressed many backstage with his abilities, and the star of 'Arrow' is surely poised to face Stardust in a one-on-one match somewhere down the line. Austin dearly hopes this doesn't happen.
