Ask pretty much anyone to explain why Lacey Evans calls everyone a great big "Nasty" and they'll likely respond that she's appalled by their looks/smell/dress sense. That's sort of it, but it's not the full story. In an interview with Busted Open Radio, the 'Sassy Southern Belle' revealed the real reason.

The US Marines, basically.

Before she was sauntering to the ring and judging everyone, Lacey was an army grunt in boot camp struggling like everyone else to get through. According to her, the term 'Nasty' is a Marine tradition. It's what everyone is called before going through training and coming out the other end as a different person. The US army takes someone's thoughts, mindset and believes, changes them and turns them into a functioning, obedient soldier.

'Nasty' has less to do with looks and more to do with how WWE stars conduct themselves on screen. That's why Lacey constantly looks down her nose at others; it's a character, not real life, albeit one influenced heavily by her old army life.
