Whether it's fleeting or not remains to be seen, but women's wrestling in WWE has come a long way in just a few years. Beforehand, there was quite the contrast between NXT and the main roster.

In developmental, female athletes like Charlotte and Sasha Banks were having great matches. Meanwhile on shows like Raw and SmackDown, WWE kept pushing the same old 'Diva' fare that was going nowhere.

At the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view, Charlotte is set to break WWE women's wrestling history. She'll face Natalya in a Submission Match, but that won't be the only thing on the reigning champion's mind.

Alongside that fact, there are stories related to the likes of Kevin Nash, The Ultimate Warrior and Jim Ross. There's even an interesting tale regarding Eric Bischoff's time in WCW, and one top WWE player opens up to reveal his thoughts on former ECW original Sabu.

Let's take a look at some wrestling-related facts even the most ardent of fans wouldn't have known about last week...

10. Some WWE Employees Thought Lilian Garcia Had Been Released

Lilian Garcia had taken a few weeks off from her duties and returned to WWE screens on the latest edition of Monday Night Raw. Her father stricken with cancer, Garcia understandably wanted to be by his side, which explains her sabbatical. Internally, some WWE employees thought she may have been released.

The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer put out a post explaining where such rumours had come from. Lilian's name had even been mentioned on a memo detailing those who had their contracts terminated, which makes it easier to imagine why some within the promotion believed she had left the organisation.

Far from being canned by WWE, Lilian was instead simply tending to personal matters. She resumed her duties on Monday evening, apparently much to the surprise of those who thought she had left weeks before.

Until she actually appeared on Raw, nobody was quite sure what to make of the whole situation. The Observer found information lacking from WWE themselves, which only thickened the plot. It appears the company didn't clear the air with those actually working for them, either.
