10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (May 22)
10. Samoa Joe Finally Takes WWE Bow
When it was revealed that longtime TNA star Samoa Joe had signed with WWE earlier this year, a lot of fans were skeptical over exactly what the 36 year old would have to offer the biggest company on the wrestling landscape. The McMahons hadn't exactly expressed much interest in Joe previously, so it was difficult to see how he could make a splash in WWE now. Without denigrating the man's abilities, Samoa Joe isn't exactly likely to shift loads of tickets or pop a big rating, so the promotion chose the best route for his entry into WWE by having him appear unannounced at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable this past Wednesday. Confronting NXT Champion, Kevin Owens, Joe looked like more of a star in just a few moments that he had for years in TNA. It's unclear whether or not the big Samoan is going to make the transition to the main roster any time soon, but at this point his career, there's a bit of rebuilding needed. It seems like a lifetime ago that the man was tearing it up in ROH, similar to his early stint in TNA, but years of treading water have cooled his jets remarkably. It was therefore golden to see him looking motivated and in good shape on NXT.
