10 Wrestling Icons That Were Humiliated On Camera

3. Roman Reigns

It's criminal how WWE got Roman Reigns so wrong before they finally figured out how to achieve the very best from such a gifted all-rounder.

Dead set on making a star in one particular way alone, Vince McMahon provided enough awful material to bludgeon 10 headliners over the space of a few short years. But of the countless examples, the "Tater Tots" promo was irrefutably the very very worst.

Ahead of a rematch with Sheamus for the WWE Title he'd lost in seconds at Survivor Series 2015, Reigns prepped December Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view. Apparently no longer incensed by Sheamus' robbery of his prize at the culmination of 'Thanksgiving Classic's one-night tournament, Roman instead compared the Irish star's genitals to tater tots. Over and over and over and over again. And that was the bit.

The promo itself was a torturous watch. Reigns smirking and guffawing at his own joke was an excruciatingly terrible, and as a star-making vehicle, it catastrophically failed the pair of them.
