Talking of John Cena, it's a fairly open secret that, despite being with his high school sweetheart throughout the majority of his wrestling career, America's hero was as faithful as pro wrestlers usually are when on the road.

Before he divorced Elizabeth in 2012, Cena was rumoured to have been hitting his five moves of doom on porn star Kendra Lust and WWE wrestlers Kelly Kelly, Melina and Victoria. No, not all at once, you filth-monsters.

The scuttlebutt (like gossip in a fireman's carry) was more solid when it came to his affair with Mickie James: the two RAW talents were hooking up on the road for months.

Supposedly, this was why Ken Doane was transferred to SmackDown in summer 2007. Doane, James’ erstwhile fiancé, had split with James after he caught her googling to find out whether rumours of the affair had hit the internet. He informed management: but in WWE, the squeaky wheel only gets the grease if it's by the driver's seat. After spending most of 2008 at home, Doane was released.

James didn't fare any better. The story goes that when - now single - it became clear to her in mid-2009 that Cena, far from leaving his girlfriend, was going to marry her, she threw an epic fit backstage. Her inability to cope with the end of the affair resulted in her also being transferred to SmackDown in November 2009.

It got worse. Saddled with the horrendous 'Piggie James' storyline as WWE's way of punishing her for making a scene, she too was released the following spring.
