10 WWE And NXT Superstars Who Should Answer John Cena's US Open Challenge

5. Alex Riley

Alex Riley recently made a pretty impressive return to action down in NXT, and while it's hard to say what direction they're going to take him in after his feud with Kevin Owens, the fact that he's already been part of the main roster surely means he'll one day return there. Given his newfound popularity, there's every chance that the WWE will do the unexpected and give Riley something meaningful to do on the main roster. If that's the case, then why not a feud with Cena? Riley trying to prove himself against the veteran leader of the Cenation could make for a decent enough feud over the course of at least a PPV or two. With the greatest of respect, Riley becoming a main eventer in the WWE seems highly unlikely. However, if he's going to take a mid-card position in the WWE, then pitting him against Cena in his first match back would be no bad thing and could make for a fun bout.
