3. "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka
If Jimmy Snuka hadn't been arrested for the alleged murder of his girlfriend Nancy Argentino in 1983, it's entirely possible that the entire WWF machine would've easily been placed on the shoulders of him, and not Hulk Hogan. However, though Snuka wasn't charged, the arrest and bizarre nature of the circumstances surrounding Argentino's death derailed the excitement surrounding Snuka's potential career aspirations. Let's not forget that it was in October of 1983 that Snuka performed his famous top-of-the-cage dive onto Don Muraco in a famed Intercontinental Title match at Madison Square Garden. Of course, Snuka had already lost the match beforehand, meaning that the exciting dive was ultimately all for naught. As well, there's Snuka too as the corner-second for Mr. T and Hulk Hogan as they faced Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff. Over with the crowd, but with an extremely dark story clouding his name, Snuka was de-pushed and not seen as a main event competitor for the rest of his WWF career.
