10 WWE Champions You Never Thought You'd See
1. Vince McMahon
Most fans would view a promotion's boss booking themselves to win their top title to be a bit egotistical. Well, fans have already speculated that Vince McMahon may have the biggest ego in sports entertainment history. Still, when he defeated Triple H for the WWE Championship on a late 1999 episode of SmackDown, fans were flabbergasted nonetheless.
Thankfully, The Chairman was not egotistical enough to give himself a full blown reign with the title. Instead, he vacated it days after he won it on Raw is War. The reason - in storyline - being because he was banned from television and couldn't defend it.
Obviously, Big Vince was not the first promoter or booker to put the company's main title on himself; Dusty Rhodes gave himself plenty of significant wins when he booked for Jim Crockett Promotions. However, since McMahon won his top wrestling title despite having no wrestling training, it left a bad taste in the mouths of audiences.
