A member of the famed Vachon family, the late Luna Vachon is arguably one of the best female wrestlers to never hold a WWE championship. In two tenures with the company, she vied for the Womens Championship several times, but she never won the strap. During her 1993-94 run, Luna battled Alundra Blayze (aka Madusa) for the reinstituted womens title but was never able to personally pry the belt off of Blayze. When she returned to WWE in 1997, the womens division was quite different, but she still couldnt capture gold, despite the title being held by a generally accepted non-wrestler, Sable. Luna lost several other title challenges through 2000, as she seemed to be the female equivalent of a jobber to the stars good enough to get quality matches out of the champ and capable of occasionally challenging for the title, but never able to win. Sadly, Luna died at the age of 48 in 2010, three years before her uncle, Maurice Mad Dog Vachon.
