10 WWE Moments That Just Left Us Confused

1. They Must Have Renewed Their Vows

WWE's extended 'bring your daughter to work day' saw Stephanie McMahon go from the sweet and shy love interest of burly exam paper Test, to spitefully breaking his heart in favour of DX bad boy Triple H, resulting in what can generously be described as a faintly consensual wedding (before a proper, more conscious one a little while later). She must have been wooed by the size of his... nose.

Anyway, as is often the case with wrestling couples, Good Ship Matrimony hit the rocks almost immediately after leaving port (see current example: Lana and Lashley). By 2002, the pair's honeymoon period was well and truly over, with Steph defecting to the side of Chris Jericho for his match against her hubby at WrestleMania X8.

In 2003, pen in hand and a product to destroy, Steph's on-screen role gradually faded. When we next saw her in any significant capacity - as a way to ramp up the tension between Triple H and Randy Orton in 2009 - it was under the general assumption that everybody knew she was Hunter's wife. And everybody did; the pair had tied the knot for reals shortly after she stopped making regular appearances.

Was any storyline explanation proffered? Was it nowt.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
