You can't really blame wrestling fans for taking WWE at their word when it comes to live attendances, since - short of going to the stadium and counting each fan one by one - there isn't really any practical way to disprove the official numbers.

But industry experts - those with eyes on the inside - are a little more cautious, having grown skeptical of Vince McMahon's record-breaking claims after years of allegedly apocryphal figures.

And it was this year's WrestleMania that really let the cat out of the bag.

WWE claimed more than 75,000 watched Roman Reigns introduce the Undertaker to his yard, a record for Miami's Camping World Stadium.

But the Wrestling Observer later suggested it may have miscalculated by about 12,000.

An easy mistake to make.
