From @AaronGuerrieri: Will Bryan still be treated like a main eventer when he returns? It seems like they will be in full swing of pushing reigns by then.
It's a fair question and you make a very good point mentioning Reigns too. I don't expect him to win the WWE Title again any time soon because of others, but I feel like it would be difficult to ignore his crowd support. When Bryan comes back (let's say it's January) he's going to be absolutely on fire. The crowd will be loud for him, chanting "yes" for everything he does and just being happy that he's back in the ring. He's earned their support. When he returns as a sympathetic babyface he'll get even more support from the fans, which is great. The problem will be that the babyface side is strong. There's John Cena, Randy Orton (he's going face), Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and others. When Bryan was forced to take time off for the neck injury he was right there with Cena. Now? Things have changed. Since Bryan is arguably the best performer in WWE when healthy, the hope is that he receives a push when he comes back although it would be realistic to expect WWE to ease into it.
