2. Who Has The Best Gimmick In Wrestling Today?
I'm afraid I'm going to have to venture outside of WWE for this one. In my mind, the best gimmick in pro wrestling currently belongs to NJPW's Tetsuya Naito. Just a couple of years ago he was a bland babyface, almost the Roman Reigns or John Cena of the Far East. He underwent an excursion to CMLL, fell in with a bad crowd, and came back the best heel on the roster.
Naito's 'tranquilo' gimmick - a lazy, disrespectful degenerate who doesn't particularly care for titles, and simply does what he wants - is particularly effective in Japan. It appeals to disillusioned youngsters in a rebellious babyface manner, while more conservative fans are constantly riled by his tradition-flaunting antics.
It's utterly brilliant, and it shouldn't be long before he holds the IWGP Heavyweight Championship a second time.
