10 WWE Releases That Made Absolutely No Sense
1. Rusev
How did WWE manage to fumble the charismatic superstar that is (or should that be was) Rusev?
Whether he was riding tanks into WrestleMania 31, turning Rusev Day into a goddamn movement or even making a cuckolding programme feel remotely bearable, Rusev proved time and time again that he had the makings of a bonafide star.
But, despite the entire WWE Universe clearly getting behind the 'Bulgarian Brute', Vince McMahon wasn't entirely convinced that he could hang at the top of the card and revealed to Rusev himself that he thought fans were mocking him with their consistent 'RUSEV DAY!' chants.
Rusev did everything in his power to try and get the boss on side, taking acting classes, getting into the best shape of his life and professionally doing whatever he was told to do. But, it was apparent that McMahon had no interest in pushing him as the insanely over babyface he was born to be.
Sure enough, once April 15 came around and WWE opted to let go of numerous wrestlers and staff, Rusev's name was top of the list.
Now, after months of claiming he was done with the business and wanting to focus on his new career as a Twitch streamer, Miro has arrived in AEW and you can bet it won't be long before he makes McMahon and co look like complete morons for parting ways with the bleach blonde Bulgarian 'Best Man'.
