3. The Basham Brothers
Enjoying the dubious distinction of having the most successful run as a pair of all of the tag teams on the list, The Basham Brothers twice captured WWE gold, but it is probably worth adding the caveat that this was during a period where almost all of the tag teams vying for gold on Smackdown were hastily thrown together mid-carders.
Paired together in OVW, the pair would be rechristened Doug and Danny Basham, and were brought up to the main roster in 2003, with fellow since-forgotten superstar Shaniqua serving as their dominatrix valet in one of the strangest gimmicks in an era where odd gimmicks were a dime a dozon.
Unsurprisingly the gimmick was not built to last, and despite being given a stay of execution as SmackDown regulars by serving as Secretaries of Defence in JBL's Cabinet, the pair would be relegated to competing as jobbers by 2005, though remained in the company before being ultimately released in 2007.
