10 WWE Ruthless Aggression WrestleMania Matches That Should Have Happened

1. Brock Lesnar Vs. Steve Austin (WrestleMania XIX)

XIX no doubt belongs on the ‘Mania podium, with many pundits considering this show to be the best ever outside of WrestleMania X-Seven.

Despite being firmly in the process of a company rebrand since the end of The Attitude Era, WWE was littered with an abundance of stars who had immense drawing power. Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle was a titanic main event WWE Championship battle. Not to mention Austin vs. Rock III was a celebrated way to cap off one of wrestling’s greatest trilogies, and careers, in the same bout. In saying this, the fact we never saw Brock Lesnar vs Steve Austin will forever be a huge missed opportunity.

Austin’s WWE career was winding down, just as his personal life was becoming more problematic. Famously quitting the company in 2002, after being asked to job to a recently debuted Lesnar on Raw rather than a PPV, many believed the Rattlesnake was done with wrestling for good. He and Vince McMahon burned bridges in early 2003, paving the way for one final ‘Mania blockbuster.

His match with The Rock was amazing, but having put over Lesnar in the main event would have made just as much if not more sense. It would put Austin's past grievances to rest, by facing Lesnar on the Grandest Stage Of Them All, and allow his career to end in the most appropriate way possible, in a WrestleMania main event.
