Signed: March 2012.

Left: December 2019.

Big Luke Harper finally got what he's wanted for the longest time when WWE agreed to release him from his contract on 8 December. It's taken patience, an open plea to the promotion on social media and one final, short run by old partner Erick Rowan's side to get there, but he's free.

WWE weren't keen on terminating Harper's contract for a while; despite hardly using him and letting a talented worker waste away on the sidelines, it seemed Vince McMahon didn't want anyone else to have him either. He's powerless to stop that now. When Luke's standard 90-day non-compete clause is up, he'll surely ink a full-time deal elsewhere, probably in AEW.

In the short-term, a return to ROH looks like it's on the cards.
