10 WWE Stars Who Gambled On A New Entrance Theme

7. Kurt Angle Goes Extreme

'Medal', repurposed from the Patriot, is an all-timer of an entrance theme.

It's so tremendous that it sounded different depending on Kurt Angle's alignment at any given time. As the deluded babyface heel, it worked incredibly well because it was the soundtrack playing through Angle's head, in which he perceived himself as heroic, where in reality, he was a despised out-of-time jackass over-celebrating wins over the rank-and-file.

As a more legitimised heel, it worked because the majesty could be taken far more seriously, and as an ultra-respected babyface, the feeling of triumph transcended the (wonderful) operatic cheese. The metre of the arrangement of course allowed for that iconic, ironic audience interaction bit.

It was that bit WWE sought to repel during Angle's brief days as ECW's resident killer. The 'You Suck!' chants would have undermined a character fans were asked to take with the utmost seriousness, but the method was awful; the transitions were so jarring that it sounded as though the CD was skipping.

Fans could bask in whatever 'Medal' was; this bastardisation was just distracting.
