10 WWE Stars Whose Best Match Came Against Bret Hart
9. Bam Bam Bigelow
Next up, we have another big man on this list, and one who
was perhaps more well-known for contesting higher calibre contests. But the best of
the bunch was arguably his meeting with our man Bret Hart in the final
of the 1993 King of the Ring tournament.
Much like Yoko at WrestleMania X, this would be Bam Bam’s second match of the night, having beaten Jim Duggan earlier on to advance. Bret, on the other hand, had already wrestled twice, beating Razor Ramon and Mr. Perfect while Bam Bam got a bye in the semis.
Either way, that didn’t stop them from putting on a quality 18-minute affair in what is widely regarded as the best King of the Ring final in the pay-per-view's history.
Naturally, Bam Bam used his size advantage to wear Bret down, but a brilliant reversal of a gutwrench powerbomb into a sleeper hold allowed Bret to turn the tide. After a couple of dives and an attempted sharpshooter, Bret would eventually hit a picture perfect victory roll to score the 1-2-3.
For Bret, it was the culmination of over 45 minutes of in-ring action, and for Bam Bam, it was likely his finest WWE outing.
