10 WWE Storylines That Were Never Resolved
So how did that story finish up again? Oh...
No matter how perfectly a match is technically executed, without engaging storylines they can be nothing more than boring exhibitions, and no matter how impressive any single move or match resolution, it is the stories that remain the most memorable over time. It's impossible to forget the likes of Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth, or Jake 'The Snake' betraying the Ultimate Warrior, or Shawn betraying Marty. Even the most impressive wrestlers are nothing without stories: Bret Hart would be little without his enduring rise, Austin's most engaging moments came in his rivalry with Vince McMahon, and even CM Punk left his most memorable moment for his departure with the title. That's why the WWE employs and keeps hold of great writers. Storylines are important to the whole card, strengthening important title matches and making less important undercard matches more interesting, and as such you'd expect these programs to be meticulously planned down to the final detail. That way the weekly TV shows and the PPV's they build to would be perfectly structured and offer the maximum amount of entertainment to the audience. Sadly, at times this couldn't be further from the truth. Quite recently, it was revealed by Shawn Michaels on Steve Austin's podcast that the shocking decision to have Brock Lesnar break the Undertaker's vaunted Wrestlemania streak was only made two hours before the event. If something as important at this was decided at the last minute, what else has transpired off the radar? Looking back, there have been several plot threads that have began on WWE TV that were mysteriously dropped by WWE creative, some of them straight away and some even after a lengthy period of development. We're going to look at ten storylines in WWE that had fans thinking ", wait, what ever happened with that guy?"
