10 WWE SummerSlam 2016 Predictions
4. Dolph Turns Heel
The WWE Title match for Smackdown, more than anything else, shows how shallow the brand's roster is in terms of established main-eventers. Randy Orton is busy with Brock Lesnar, John Cena and AJ Styles are wrestling each other, and so the only opponent left for champion Dean Ambrose is someone who was losing to Baron Corbin two months ago.
Dolph Ziggler is still one of the best talents in WWE, but he's been beaten so many times (and, as Ambrose pointed out, spent so much time talking about how "great" he is without actually delivering success) that he's incredibly stale. What he really needs in order to refresh his career is a heel turn, and since it didn't happen before SummerSlam, it's going to happen at SummerSlam.
Expect an exciting match with a ton of near falls, but Ambrose will win cleanly with Dirty Deeds. After the bout, though, an exasperate Dolph will turn on "The Lunatic Fringe", giving himself a much-needed makeover. It will also allow the Dolph/Dean program to continue, since Smackdown is running a PPV just three weeks later that needs a headlining bout.
