10 WWE SummerSlam Hidden Gems You Need To Check Out

Hands up who thought Steve Blackman would be on this list...

SummerSlam is one of the biggest Pay-Per-View events on the WWE calendar. Routinely advertised as the "biggest event of the Summer", the show has managed to maintain much of the luster closely associated with the bigger PPV cards each year. When other such as Survivor Series and even Royal Rumble have arguably lost some shine, SummerSlam remains one fans look forward to. This year will be no different. There's a lot of excitement over The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar, and rightly so. Marquee bouts such as this have been a hallmark of SummerSlam over the years, but what about those matches that don't get the same kind of attention? For every Bret Hart vs. Undertaker from 1997, or each Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena from the 2014 iteration of the event, there's countless other that fans don't talk much about. Featured on this list are 10 of those contests, matches that - for whatever reason - don't get the credit they deserve. There are no main events here. Instead, many of these bouts sat nicely on the undercard, and were often overshadowed by more heavily-hyped attractions. It's clear just by scanning this list that there's more to SummerSlam than just the bigger matches. These are all hidden gems that more wrestling fans should seek out...
