10 WWE Superstars Who Were Lucky Not To Be Released Today

1. David Otunga

Here's a name that we haven't seen in a long time in WWE. He was featured in WWE during the Nexus storyline in 2010 all the way until John Laurinaitis' run as a heel GM through 2012, but then he became a non-factor. Otunga was barely used by WWE in 2013 and in 2014 he has only appeared in a match when he was a part of the battle royal at WrestleMania. It's not like he was treated as a big deal or very noticeable in the match. He was there, though. He's been serviceable as a talker. There's nothing wrong with him in the promo department. He also has the kind of muscular physique that WWE loves, but if you watch him in the ring he's below average. It was as if you were watching an indy wrestler when Otunga was in a match because all he would do is throw clotheslines and bodyslams. Considering he's in his mid-30s it's unlikely that he would improve in the ring at this point in his career. What Otunga has going for him is that he's engaged to Oscar winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson although it's not like WWE would admit that's why he's still there. It could help him, though. It's not like he's doing anything on screen to stay employed. If he did get released by WWE at least he has that law degree to fall back on. That's more than most people!
