Now that his wrestling career is over, it might be time to put on a different pair of spandex!
WWE.comCM Punk is hot news right now - the will-he-won't-he question regarding whether or not he is going to return to WWE, or wrestling in general, is constantly on the minds of wrestling fans and an ongoing source of rumour articles on various websites. If a wrestling return doesn't materialise, what could the three-time World Heavyweight Champion and two-time WWE Champion do? Could he go in to acting? He has already dabbled somewhat into a career on the screen, with roles such as that of a Bounty Hunter in the TV mini-series Nerdist: Course of the Force, and he was due to portray CM Punkrock - a fictionalised version of himself - in the Warner Brothers and WWE Studios direct-to-video movie, The Flintstones, prior to his departure from the WWE. On that note, CM Punk loves comic books, that is something that everyone familiar with the guy is already aware of (he's a fan of anything Ed Brubaker writes, in particular). Indeed, he wrote the introduction for the hardcover edition of Marvel Comics' 2012 crossover event Avengers vs. X-Men and described the experience as "a geek dream come true" - so could he ever play a comic book character? Whether he was to do so in a live action flick or in an animated movie or series, we believe he is perfect for a number of potential comic book character roles. Despite his "straight edge" schtick from days gone by, that ship has sailed and Punk is very unlikely to ever play anyone pure and full of sweetness and light so, for example, even though Punk has described Captain America as Marvel's equivalent of "the best in the world", playing Steve Rogers could and would never happen.
