Out of all WWE's PPV themes, "Fastlane" is perhaps the lamest. In the past, February had No Way Out and Elimination Chamber. Those themes were edgy, selling something unique in regards to a gimmick. But Fastlane? What's that a play on? Fast cars and racing tracks linked to a wrestling show is a really weak theme, especially for something that's meant to be a huge event in WrestleMania season. Compounding the mistake is the fact that they've used Eva Marie for the event's branding. She's perceived as a dud, a Total Divas star and not a proper WWE roster member. Putting her on the front of the poster only infects the event. The whole marketing process is one big mistake, far from retailing a specific spectacle (there's a reason Royal Rumble, Money In The Bank etc do well) the company are instead offering a confused message about wrestlers and fast cars.
