From 2003 to 2005, Kurt Angle was on the Smackdown brand with Dawn Marie. Kurt was married to Karen Angle and Dawn Marie was involved with TNA wrestler Simon Diamond. However, with this being the wrestling business, and the road being the road, affairs inevitably happen. Dawn told a 2008 shoot interview that rumours of her affair with Kurt had been accurate. When Simon Diamond found about this, he likely hated Angle's guts. It's also reasonable to assume that Dawn felt scorned by Angle. Her career ended up nose-diving in WWE after 2003, which is perhaps due to management's disapproval of her antics with Angle. He was a big star, so he was able to move on. She would be the one to deal with the consequences.
