11 Match Star Ratings For WWE SummerSlam 2021

10. AJ Styles & Omos Vs. RK-Bro - RAW Tag Team Title Match

Too short to be very good, but that misses the point.

An Omos match isn't meant to be good. It is meant to feel like a spectacle with some decent worked built around his spots. This followed the usual template, but AJ Styles and Riddle crafted a spectacular spot worthy of the occasion to make it feel slightly less like a TV match with a happy ending. Or an ending full stop. AJ's moonsault/DDT seamless combo was delivered from the apron. It looked tremendous, like something he'd thought of and held back for a show like this.

Otherwise, praising this match feels like one is analysing a table.

Good, sturdy structure.

It's wooden, but impressive in size.

Everybody is happy to sit down at it because they're into the giant, AJ is as WWE as Randy Orton these days, and everybody opened the cloche expecting an RK-Bro Tag Team Title win, and they received it.

The last seconds of the finish were quality. Orton lulled Styles into the RKO with a visually satisfying bit of footwork.

Look, WWE gave the fans what they wanted. That's seven star stuff by their standards.

Star Rating: ★★¾
