11 Shocks We Could See At WWE SummerSlam 2014

1. CM Punk Returns

We're not saying it will happen, we're just saying it would be a shock if it did happen! CM Punk abruptly left WWE in January of this year, creating a great deal of animosity between himself and the company. His deal only expired in July, meaning he essentially went on strike for six months. Now a free agent, he's probably still under a 90 day no-compete clause. Those linking him with a return at SummerSlam are doing so for a few reasons. One of them is WWE 2K15. Some fans on twitter just refuse to accept that Punk's exit was a shoot. The news that he'll be a main star in 2K's October WWE video game is seen by those fans as proof that something is a bit fishy here. Another reason fans are optimistic about Punk returning is the status of his wife. Why wouldn't he want to be on the road with the woman he loves? AJ Lee is the divas champion and will be in Los Angeles to defend her championship. Will Punk make the trip with her? Possibly, although that doesn't mean he'll be going anywhere near the WWE event. If there's one thing we do know about SummerSlam, there's usually at least one major shock. Make sure you're watching this weekend!
