11 WWE Royal Rumble Statistics You Need To Know

1. That Winning Feeling

It€™s a fairly commonly known fact that only €œStone Cold€ Steve Austin has won the Royal Rumble three times, outlasting everyone in 1997, 1998 and 2001. He also was runner-up to Mr. McMahon in 1999 in a ridiculous Rumble many would like to forget. But it€™s worth noting that four other men have won the Rumble twice: Hulk Hogan (1990, 1991), Shawn Michaels (1995, 1996), John Cena (2008, 2013) and Batista (2005, 2014). It€™s also worth noting that Austin, Hogan and Michaels all won Rumbles in back-to-back years, a feat that Roman Reigns could accomplish if he manages to emerge from Sunday€™s match with his world title intact. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4JvBl1javM In addition to Reigns, there are five other former Rumble winners on the active roster who are competing (or could theoretically compete) in Sunday€™s match: Brock Lesnar, Alberto Del Rio, Sheamus, Undertaker and Triple H. Former winners John Cena and Randy Orton are injured, and the Rock and Batista are not coming back for the Rumble. Batista has the longest gap between Rumble wins, with nine years passing before his unpopular victory two years ago. That record could get shattered Sunday if the rumors that Triple H could enter the Rumble to overthrow Roman, which would give him a second Rumble victory 14 years after his 2002 win. Of course, that is just speculation at this point. We€™ll know more in a few days.
