The WWE is having to look at business financials in a whole new way this year. The implementation of the WWE Network has changed their entire business model, meaning that last year the business recorded a loss of $30,100,000. Still, WWE is a remarkably healthy business. The Network is a long term investment and is expected to become profitable in time. The company revenues for last year were $542.6 million, and the Network start up cost was what dragged WWE into a loss making year. This year the company are likely to break even on the Network and return to profit. Part of the process in turning the tide has been cost cutting measures. Unfortunately, more cost cutting measures are going to be necessary. The problem is that WWE have allowed themselves to become bloated. They spend in areas that simply do not need investment. These wastes of money apply to several ares of business, and even individual talents. As harsh as it is to say, there's some WWE talent who have to be considered a waste of cash in the Network Era. This isn't necessarily a reflection on the talent, but more of a reflection on the business. If WWE stop wasting money, they can enjoy a very profitable 2015. Aspects of the business and individual wrestlers are going to need a thorough examination in the accountancy department.
