12 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Apr 23)
5. Horsewomen Reunited
It was cool to see Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Bayley share a ring last night. 'The Hugger' has been on Raw since the new brand split kicked in back in 2016. She feuded with Charlotte in 2017, but has scarcely interacted with 'The Queen' since, and the same goes for Lynch, who has spent the majority of her post-draft time on SmackDown.
The segment started with Charlotte cutting her standard heel promo. Fortunately, Charlotte's "standard heel promo" is good, and she came off well as she put herself over as the rightful number one contender to Lynch's SmackDown Women's Championship (Becky didn't beat her at WrestleMania 35 being the case).
Out came 'The Man.' Back-and-forth banter followed, with Lynch claiming Charlotte didn't understand the meaning of "winner take all," and that she'd beaten Flair so many times that another would be pointless. Cue: more arrogance from Charlotte, before Bayley marched out and, in a display of unexpected defiance, shot at Lynch for never defeating her, said "me and you, Charlotte - right now!" and slapped the mic out of Flair's hand.
With Asuka relegated to tag duty, expect this trio to comprise the bulk of 2019's SmackDown' Women's Title programmes. That's fine by us.
