6. Bubba Ray Dudley

Bubba Ray Dudley has had quite a career. The Queens native has wrestled for every major promotion under the sun, primarily as part of the iconic Dudley Boyz tag team, winning championship gold in WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA, NJPW, NWA and WWF. No other team can lay claim to such a feat. A 23-time Tag Team Champion, Bubba also has a place in the WWE Hall of Fame.

Bubba Ray has had a number of singles runs in promotions across the globe, but nothing comes close to his long tenure as Bully Ray in TNA. It was one of the promotion’s few success stories during a difficult time, as Ray took the lemons of another Dudley Boyz break-up and reinvented himself, cutting tremendous promos and proving himself as a top tier singles competitor. For a number of years, Bully Ray could lay claim to being the top guy in the number two promotion in the US.

He will forever be remembered for his tag exploits, but it is difficult to look past the Bully Ray years as the best that this veteran has produced. Both as a face and a heel, though primarily the latter, Ray was at the top of his game at that time.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
