You can pretty much depend on The New Day to blow all their colleagues completely out of the water when it comes to both the look and significance of their ring gear, and once again that was the case this Sunday for Kofi Kingston's huge WWE Championship challenge.

Unlike some of the broad pop-culture inspired outfits on display in New Jersey, the reasons behind the trio's golden get-up wasn't immediately obvious. The spray-painted imagery including tiny crowns and a silhouette of a unicorn was in direct homage to the work of New York graffiti artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, whose politically charged work focused on issues such as segregation, poverty, and anti-colonialism.
