13 Years Ago... Vince McMahon Nearly Killed Hornswoggle In WWE Storyline
That's one way to get rid of an illegitimate son.
Former WWE writer and producer Brian Gewirtz has unearthed an unused creative pitch that would have seen Hornswoggle murdered by his storyline father Vince McMahon in 2007.
Gewirtz tweeted earlier an old WWE booking sheet which displayed the pitch, reportedly made by his colleague soon after Hornswoggle was announced as McMahon's 'illegitimate son' in a storyline - an angle that still sits as one of the most infamous in the company's history.
Gewirtz confirmed in the tweet that the writer in question's idea (thankfully) didn't get anywhere near the boss, but the pitch went as follows:
Former WWE Champion John Bradshaw Layfield himself even chimed in on the post and replied by asking Gewirtz 'can we still do this?'
As Gewirtz said himself in the tweet, you have to admire a writer who swings for the fences, but this may have been a step too far, even for the WWE Chairman. Saying that, he did mention Katie Vick on last week's Friday Night SmackDown on FOX, so all bets are off when it comes to deciding what the boss will deem as 'too far'.
